Nice to Meet Ya!

by David McCauley

I am extremely excited to become part of the PlanIT Geo™ team working as a Tree Inventory Technician with the Tree Inventory and Assessment services department! I am based in the Chicago suburbs and have lived out here my entire life. I am looking forward to the traveling aspect of the position and getting the opportunity to see towns across the United States.
I graduated in May of 2018 from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry with a specialization in Urban Forest Management. Between school years I had multiple internships in the private side of urban forestry. I mainly focused on Plant Health Care where I performed many treatments for various diseases in our urban forests. Outside of Plant Health Care I performed numerous right of way ash removals leading me to understand the important of species diversity. After graduating college, I went on full time with a private tree care company as a Plant Health Care applicator where I aided in inventories, disease identification and treatment, as well as trimming and removing trees.

Between my schooling and work experience I have noticed the importance of species diversity, and having easily accessible inventories. With these you can create management plans as well as be prepared for future diseases to come to the United States to be able to quickly contain and stop the spread. I am looking forward to being able help with the amazing work everyone at PlanIT Geo has accomplished and for the new work ahead!

I look forward to meeting and working with our clients and partners.  You can reach me at
