Account Executive

PAY: $60,000-$100,000 including uncapped comissions


Arvada, Colorado (main office, partial work-from-home; full remote possible for the right candidate)

PlanIT Geo provides consulting services and enterprise GIS software for urban trees, parks, and related green infrastructure asset management. In this role you will work with a group of dedicated professionals to deliver innovative solutions to clients worldwide in government, nonprofit, campus, and private organizations. We are a fast-growing company near Denver with employees around the U.S. and partners around the globe. We have a team culture focused on passion, knowledge, help first, innovation, and resilience. This account executive position focuses on selling software and consulting solutions to local and state government, nonprofit, campus, and other organizations managing green assets at scale. Our software products are GIS-based (Geographic Information Systems) and encompass data collection, analysis, management, and sharing. The complimentary consulting services we offer include urban forest management planning, urban tree canopy analysis, and tree inventory data collection. As an account executive in the North American territory, your objective is to hunt for new leads and receive qualified inbound leads in order to drive deals through the pipeline and win new business.


  • Hunt for new opportunities using our proven prospecting methods, and your own strategic ideas, to build and track your sales pipeline
  • Perform online discovery and demo calls to understand prospect needs, and collaborate with our consultants on scope of work and proposal development
  • Lead request for proposal (RFP) responses in collaboration with our proposal coordinator and office admin
  • Close new business, including contract negotiation, and ensure a smooth transition to our tech team and consultants to perform the work
  • Coordinate with our customer success team on each deal to ensure long term success and future expansion opportunities
  • Provide our marketing team with feedback on messaging and content ideas that resonate in the industry and drive sales
  • Bring feature development and service enhancement ideas to the product and development team that will add value to the customer
  •  Travel nationally 2-4 times per quarter to industry conferences, customer visits, and trade shows


  • 3-4 years in a sales role with a technical product or relatively complex solution
  • Knowledge of sales cycles and managing workload in a CRM
  • Solution oriented and creative problem solver
  • Self starter and self accountable
  • Bachelor degree or higher


  • Experience with GIS software, GPS location services, or asset management systems
  • Experience in fast growth industry, SaaS, sustainability, urban forestry, park management, or tree care
  • Formal sales training


Base salary of $60K with a commission structure that targets $100K+ in on target earnings (uncapped commission). The position includes company 401K with up to 4% match and health insurance programs, ten days paid time off (increases over time), and seven paid national holidays.

Tree Inventory Technician

PAY: $19 – $25 per hour or $39k – $52k per year.

Full-time W2 employment (Inquire for Benefits Package)


Nationwide – Must be able to travel for three to four weeks straight and stay in hotels/Airbnb’s.


PlanIT Geo provides professional geospatial consulting services and web/mobile software solutions for Urban Forestry and green infrastructure planning, natural resource analysis, forest management, and related areas. We are seeking one candidate with diverse interests and experience/education in urban forestry, arboriculture, GIS, and technology. Candidates should be motivated, versatile, work well in the private industry under strict time restraints, be able to travel, and have excellent communication skills.


  • Collect individual tree x/y locations via mobile tools from aerial imagery while in the field.
  • Assess each tree for a wide variety of fields/attributes (e.g. Common Name, Scientific Name,
    DBH, Condition, Height, Crown Spread, Insect Issues, Diseases, Defects, Size of Defect, Probability of Failure, Target Frequency, Other Risk Fields, Site Type, Address, etc.).
  • Provide clients with training in tree inventory software and related data management in a
    variety of formats (Shapefile, Excel, Access, etc.).


  • ISA Certified Arborist – must have or be able to obtain within two weeks of hire date.
  • Pursuit of, or obtained BS/BA degree in forestry, natural resources, horticulture or related field.
  • Ability to ID a variety of North American tree species by common and botanical name (leaf-on and off seasons).
  • Ability to ID or quickly learn a variety of defects (biotic and abiotic) for different species of trees.
  • Familiarity of plant growth habits and landscape use of common urban tree species.
  • Experience in GIS desktop software (ESRI or Open Source; from coursework or other).
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time while using a tablet device safely.
  • Flexibility in work hours to meet a quota of trees inventoried per day/week.
  • Ability to travel 2-4 weeks at a time, stay in hotels/airbnb’s as needed, and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to establish/maintain effective working relationships with staff, clients, and other industry professionals.
