PR and Events Coordinator

PAY: $45,000-55,000 annually + bonus opportunities

LOCATION: Full or partial remote work, headquarters is located in Arvada, CO.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are searching for a talented and motivated PR and Events Coordinator to plan, oversee, execute, and report on all aspects of managing events and public relations activities of different sizes and purposes. As the PR and Events Coordinator, you should be well-organized and have sound event management knowledge. Excellent communication and attention to detail skills are vital in this role, as our success depends on meeting strict deadlines and requirements while staying within budget.

 

EVENT COORDINATION 85%:

You are responsible for the coordination of conference and trade show events, workshops, webinars, company events in-person and virtual. Responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Plan and organize events in accordance with financial and time restraints, tracking all event expenses and invoices regularly, and working with Marketing Operations Manager to ensure budgeted and actual expenses are aligned and correctly tracked
  • Manage the company events calendar and correspondence with stakeholders involved
  • Carefully supervise event preparation activities and offer solutions to resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Make sure effective tracking is in place and analyze and evaluate results
  • Collaborate with the Lifecycle Marketing Manager to develop and execute sales contests and promotions for upcoming events
  • Manage, order, and ship marketing material, proactively ordering based on the upcoming schedule with approval from the Director of Marketing with design assistance from the Brand Manager.
  • Perform day-to-day ordering and shipping tasks as needed, work with office admin when most appropriate

 

MATERIAL STOCK 5%:

  • Maintain appropriate stock of marketing materials for home and remote office employees

 

PUBLIC RELATIONS 10%:

You are responsible for the coordination and management of public relations activities, responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Coordinate speaking events for conference and trade show presentations, podcasts, and public relations events
  • Maintain an up-to-date LISTSERV of journalists, influencers, and other relevant contacts
  • Create and distribute press releases, event announcements, and other relevant information to LISTSERV
  • Assist with social media to foster earned media presence
  • Cultivate strong relationships with LISTSERV contacts to ensure efficient communication and maximum coverage
  • Seek and inform marketing contractor of opportunities for brand awareness partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising
  • Address inquiries from the media and other parties
  • Manage customer review campaigns, collaborating with Customer Success and Support teams

 

DESIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years of experience in public relations, communications, events coordination, management, or a similar role
  • BA in hospitality management, public relations, or a similar relevant field
  • Well-organized and excellent multitasking skills and abilities

Business Developer

PlanIT Geo provides consulting services and enterprise GIS software for urban trees, parks, and related green infrastructure asset management. In this role you will work with a group of dedicated professionals to deliver innovative solutions to clients worldwide in government, nonprofit, campus, and private organizations. We are a fast-growing company near Denver with employees around the U.S. and partners around the globe. We have a team culture focused on passion, knowledge, help first, innovation, and resilience. Our customers love our personalized, collaborative approach to solving their problems and commitment to long term success.

This position focuses on developing projects and closing sales including software, technology, and consulting solutions to local and state government, nonprofit, campus, and other organizations managing green assets at scale. Our TreePlotter™ software products are GIS-based (Geographic Information Systems) and encompass data collection, analysis, management, and sharing. The complete and integrated consulting services we offer include urban forest management planning, urban tree canopy and equity analysis, and tree inventory data collection including risk assessments. As a business developer in the North American territory, your objective is to network and identify new leads and receive qualified inbound leads in order to drive deals through the pipeline and win new business.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Hunt for new opportunities using our proven prospecting methods, and your own strategic ideas and network, to build and track your sales pipeline
  • Perform online “qualification discovery” and software demo calls to understand customer needs, and collaborate with our consultants on scope of work or proposal development
  • Track grant opportunities and lead the development of teams through existing customers and network building
  • Collaborate with our proposal coordinator and office admin on Request for Proposal (RFP) responses
  • Close new business, including contract negotiation, and ensure a smooth transition to our tech team and consultants to perform the work
  • Coordinate with our customer success team on each deal to ensure long term success and future expansion opportunities
  • Provide our marketing team with feedback on messaging and content ideas that resonate in the industry and drive sales
  • Bring software feature development and service enhancement ideas to the product and development team that will add value to customers
  • Travel nationally 2-4 times per quarter to industry conferences, customer visits, and trade shows

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-4 years in a business role with a technical product or relatively complex solutions
  • Knowledge of sales cycles and managing workload, tasks, and pipeline in a CRM
  • Solution oriented and creative problem solver
  • Self starter and self accountable
  • Bachelor degree or higher

NICE TO HAVE EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with GIS software, GPS location services, or asset management systems
  • Experience in fast growth industry, SaaS, sustainability, urban forestry, park management, or tree care

COMPENSATION:

Base salary of $60-80K with a commission structure that targets $120K+ for On Target Earnings (uncapped commission). The position includes company 401K with up to 4% match and health insurance programs, 10-15 days paid time off (depending on industry experience), and seven paid national holidays.

Financial Analyst

 PAY: $60-70k

DESCRIPTION:

PlanIT Geo, Inc. helps the world grow greener with data and tools to manage their urban trees and parks. We provide services, technology solutions, and geospatial Software as a Service for green asset management. Our clients are in fourteen countries on five continents, and include local and state governments, private tree care firms, consultants, nonprofits, campuses, and others who work with trees, parks, and natural resources data for planning and management.

We have grown quickly and are looking for a Financial Analyst to join the team. The ideal candidate will be versatile, a self-starter, and intellectually curious, able to investigate and implement initiatives without close supervision. This position reports to the COO and is based at our main office and has significant ability for advancement as PlanIT Geo grows globally. Some work-from-home is available.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Assist the COO and CFO with vital financial reporting, most notably AR/AP, cash flow projections and cash / liquidity management.
  • Liaise with the sales and marketing teams to assist with new contract closure, understand and explain sales trends, marketing spend and its effectiveness, invoicing patterns, and collection projections.
  • Support the COO and CFO in monthly and annual budgeting processes established in the company
  • Pro Forma including analysis of compensation plans and bonuses; track/report on monthly/quarterly budget variance and bonuses.
  • Own regular reporting of vital financial metrics, including ARR, CAC, CRC, MRR, LTV, etc.
  • Work with both the company administration person and the controller in calculating monthly commissions.
  • Partner with consulting services staff to track the operating margins of individual projects.
  • Work with the leadership team in the production and maintenance of the company’s pro forma analysis model.
  • Assist the Controller with modeling accrual projections of deferred software revenue and deferred expenses.
  • Ad-hoc financial support for the leadership team.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration
  • 2+ years of relevant work and internship experience
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) and Gmail/calendar. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, etc.) a plus.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and CRM software (i.e. Hubspot, SalesForce, etc.) a plus
  • Interest in trees, forestry, natural resource management, sustainability, or urban planning a plus

Tree Inventory Technician

PAY: $19 – $25 per hour or $39k – $60k per year.

Full-time W2 employment (Inquire for Benefits Package)

LOCATION:

Nationwide – Must be able to travel for three to four weeks straight and stay in hotels/Airbnb’s.

DESCRIPTION:

PlanIT Geo provides professional geospatial consulting services and web/mobile software solutions for Urban Forestry and green infrastructure planning, natural resource analysis, forest management, and related areas. We are seeking one candidate with diverse interests and experience/education in urban forestry, arboriculture, GIS, and technology. Candidates should be motivated, versatile, work well in the private industry under strict time restraints, be able to travel, and have excellent communication skills.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Collect individual tree x/y locations via mobile tools from aerial imagery while in the field.
  • Assess each tree for a wide variety of fields/attributes (e.g. Common Name, Scientific Name,
    DBH, Condition, Height, Crown Spread, Insect Issues, Diseases, Defects, Size of Defect, Probability of Failure, Target Frequency, Other Risk Fields, Site Type, Address, etc.).
  • Provide clients with training in tree inventory software and related data management in a
    variety of formats (Shapefile, Excel, Access, etc.).

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • ISA Certified Arborist – must have or be able to obtain within two weeks of hire date.
  • Pursuit of, or obtained BS/BA degree in forestry, natural resources, horticulture or related field.
  • Ability to ID a variety of North American tree species by common and botanical name (leaf-on and off seasons).
  • Ability to ID or quickly learn a variety of defects (biotic and abiotic) for different species of trees.
  • Familiarity of plant growth habits and landscape use of common urban tree species.
  • Experience in GIS desktop software (ESRI or Open Source; from coursework or other).
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time while using a tablet device safely.
  • Flexibility in work hours to meet a quota of trees inventoried per day/week.
  • Ability to travel 2-4 weeks at a time, stay in hotels/airbnb’s as needed, and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to establish/maintain effective working relationships with staff, clients, and other industry professionals.

    Front End Software Developer

     PAY: $90-$130k depending on experience.

    PlanIT Geo™ is looking for a software developer with front-end expertise to join our team building mobile-focused applications for urban forest management and arborists.

     

    ABOUT YOU:

    • You are a software developer with 2-5 years’ of experience building SaaS and web applications.
    • You can demonstrate your expertise writing JavaScript PWAs or hybrid apps using frameworks such as React, Vue, React Native, Ionic, PhoneGap or Titanium.
    • You have experience with server-side JavaScript (Node, Express etc) and might have experience with Python or PHP.
    • You ship new features and bug fixes to production, and take responsibility for ensuring your code works properly, is well-written, and is well-designed.
    • You like working in an agile environment, and you like seeing your work directly help your customers do their job.
    • You enjoy working in a small team, and both value and actively contribute to a culture of collaboration and mutual support and respect.
    • You enjoy teaching others the cool stuff you know, and eagerly learn from your team.

    • We have TypeScript and JavaScript (Node and browser), Python, and PHP code. We make extensive use of PostgreSQL. We automate infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible. We operate on AWS and GCP. You will work on any and all of this.
    • Troubleshooting, debugging and resolving production defects and issues. We are applying the latest DevOps thinking to our processes to make systemic improvements as well as solving short-term issues.
    • Helping implement architectural improvements and cloud-native modernizations to our code and infrastructure.
    • Reviewing others’ PRs and code, solo or pair programming, creating and reviewing software and architecture designs, and operating within an agile/lean development process.
