Proposal Coordinator

Pay: $60k-$75k

PlanIT Geo provides leading consulting services and enterprise GIS software for urban trees, parks, and related green infrastructure asset management. We are seeking a Proposal Coordinator to join our team. In this role you will work with a group of dedicated professionals to deliver innovative solutions to clients worldwide in government, nonprofit, and campus sectors. We are a fast-growing company near Denver with employees around the U.S. and partners and customers around the globe. Primary responsibilities of the position:

  • Coordinate all proposal related activities between multiple teams, from vetting to teaming to submission with great attention to detail and communication skills
  • Quickly learn about our clients needs, PlanIT Geo’s services and software, our proven process, and unique value proposition
  • Lead the writing, collaboration, and submittal of RFPs, RFQs, and other competitive bids for projects involving geospatial analysis, tree inventory, software, and management planning of urban forests, parks, and green infrastructure
  • Proposal development, including writing, forming teams, layout, and compiling budgets
  • Be accountable to keep internal and external team members on track for submission deadlines
  • Coordinate organization of resources such as resumes, project descriptions, budget sheets, staff bios and qualifications, design templates, and software product descriptions
  • Lead proposal pre-bid meeting attendance, final proposal design & printing/shipping, and post-submission interviews including materials (presentations, etc.)
  • Monitor online procurement services to identify new opportunities
  • Review insurance requirements and coordinate required proposal signatures
  • Report internally on the status of outstanding proposals
  • Coordinate with marketing on professional digital design content for proposals
  • Support international resellers on templated materials on their consulting services proposals
  • Build long-term relationships and a reputable network of industry contacts and partners

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • 2+ years in business development, proposal and document coordination, sales, or operations in a fast-paced professional consulting environment
  • Bachelor degree or higher in business management, communications, natural resources, sustainability, or related field
  • Proficient with Microsoft products, Google Workspace, and CRM for tracking opportunities
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and business relationship skills; great rapport with our staff and partners
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local government funding and procurement processes including grants

Desired Skills and Nice-To-Haves:

  • Local government and private sector consulting experience
  • An eye towards visually pleasing design reflective of our brand and professionalism
  • Familiar with mapping, GIS, and remote sensing concepts and technologies
  • Experience with inventory/asset/work management software
  • Knowledge of and experience with urban forest master/management plans and community engagement
  • Understanding of ecosystem services function, value, and research tools

Compensation:
Base salary commensurate with experience plus commission and bonus structure based on revenue goals. Company 401K, health insurance, HSA, and paid time off offered. Computer and reimbursable expenses are covered by PlanIT Geo. Flexibility to work remotely or preferably from our main office in Colorado.

Tree Inventory Technician

PAY: $19 – $25 per hour or $39k – $52k per year.

Full-time W2 employment (Inquire for Benefits Package)

LOCATION:

Nationwide – Must be able to travel for three to four weeks straight and stay in hotels/Airbnb’s.

DESCRIPTION:

PlanIT Geo provides professional geospatial consulting services and web/mobile software solutions for Urban Forestry and green infrastructure planning, natural resource analysis, forest management, and related areas. We are seeking one candidate with diverse interests and experience/education in urban forestry, arboriculture, GIS, and technology. Candidates should be motivated, versatile, work well in the private industry under strict time restraints, be able to travel, and have excellent communication skills.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Collect individual tree x/y locations via mobile tools from aerial imagery while in the field.
  • Assess each tree for a wide variety of fields/attributes (e.g. Common Name, Scientific Name,
    DBH, Condition, Height, Crown Spread, Insect Issues, Diseases, Defects, Size of Defect, Probability of Failure, Target Frequency, Other Risk Fields, Site Type, Address, etc.).
  • Provide clients with training in tree inventory software and related data management in a
    variety of formats (Shapefile, Excel, Access, etc.).

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • ISA Certified Arborist – must have or be able to obtain within two weeks of hire date.
  • Pursuit of, or obtained BS/BA degree in forestry, natural resources, horticulture or related field.
  • Ability to ID a variety of North American tree species by common and botanical name (leaf-on and off seasons).
  • Ability to ID or quickly learn a variety of defects (biotic and abiotic) for different species of trees.
  • Familiarity of plant growth habits and landscape use of common urban tree species.
  • Experience in GIS desktop software (ESRI or Open Source; from coursework or other).
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time while using a tablet device safely.
  • Flexibility in work hours to meet a quota of trees inventoried per day/week.
  • Ability to travel 2-4 weeks at a time, stay in hotels/airbnb’s as needed, and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to establish/maintain effective working relationships with staff, clients, and other industry professionals.

    Software Support Specialist

    PAY: $45-55K

    LOCATION:

    Arvada, Colorado (main office, partial work-from-home; full remote possible for the right candidate)

    DESCRIPTION:

    PlanIT Geo™ is a global urban forestry consulting and software development firm. Our web-based software is used by private tree care firms, consultants, local and state governments, nonprofits, and others who work with trees, parks, and natural resources data. As our platform and client base expand, so does our need to continue providing excellent technical support.

    We are seeking a Software Support Specialist to be a core member of our team. Our ideal candidate has prior experience in a customer-facing software support role, a great attitude, and strong technical skills. You will work with customers every day, providing training, troubleshooting issues, and setting up new apps. You will configure software in a database, analyze and import complicated data sets, and resolve challenging issues with our developers. You will be a part of our daily standup meeting and work with the entire team, including sales/marketing staff, account managers, and our in-field arborists.

    This is a great opportunity to join the fastest growing company in urban forestry technology, and can lead to other roles within the company for the right hire. Partial or full time work-from-home is available.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

    •  Customer support via phone, email, screenshare – engage clients, identify their needs, and work independently and with the team to solve issues and create solutions
    • Enter and track issues in a Help Desk system; help test and debug apps as able
    • Configure/setup new and existing software apps to match customer specifications / sales quotes
    • Train new and existing users of TreePlotter software on everything from general use to custom features
    • Use database administration tools and code statements to customize client software
    • Analyze, prepare, clean and transform existing customer data for migration into TreePlotter, using Excel/Access, ArcGIS, and other tools
    • Attend daily meetings and work with the team to support our entire client base in a holistic manner

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and EXPERIENCE:

    • 1-2 years in a customer-facing role, with proven success supporting clients (preferably SaaS)
    • Strong technical skills including demonstrated understanding of software, systems, and the web
    • Ability to work with complex data sets – analyze, manipulate, and transform data as needed to fit client data into our app, with very strong attention to detail and focus
    • College degree or equivalent experience

    DESIRED SKILLS, and NICE-TO-HAVES:

    • Bilingual in English/Spanish
    • Experience with databases, technical support procedures, help desk systems (Jira, Zendesk)
    • Familiar with mapping/GIS concepts, technologies and a variety of formats (sql, json, csv…)
    • Experience with Postgres or another database, AWS, linux, and web and software development
    • Interest in trees, forestry, natural resource management, sustainability, or urban planning a plus
