MISSION OF THE ROLE:

Upgrade and professionalize PlanIT Geo’s operations across multiple functional areas, establish clear key performance indicators, and drive the team to meet and exceed company performance goals.

To achieve our Revenue & EBITDA growth targets by owning the strategy and execution for our customer success, consulting and professional services, talent management, and finance functions, and by working closely with our sales and marketing and technology leadership. Act as “Chief Integrator”, the operational heartbeat of the company and counterpart to our visionary CEO.

ABOUT THE JOB:

President & COO will report to and work closely with CEO, Ian Hanou, in managing the most critical strategic initiatives, driving PlanIT Geo to the next chapter of growth and profitability. Serving as a member of the executive team, the COO will drive strategic special projects, such as leading our FP&A and budgeting processes, recommending pricing and packaging, and enabling new growth experiments, streamlining G&A and working capital processes, and managing our compensation plans. Your analysis will constructively challenge business activity – either to increase growth, improve efficiency, or otherwise increase shareholder value. You will also oversee and lead our fractional finance and accounting department.

This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious individual to accelerate their professional development and take a broad leadership role at a rapidly growing mission driven software company.

The President & COO will lead all operational, finance, and human resources functions for the company, guiding us through this period of dramatic growth in operations and revenues. You will own our EBITDA goals by designing and leading disciplined, rigorous metrics and processes.

You will work cross-functionally with a group of dedicated professionals to deliver innovative solutions to clients.

PlanIT Geo runs on the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) with the CEO as Visionary and COO as the Integrator. You will unify, harmonize, and execute on strategies by acting as “Chief Integrator”, the operational heartbeat of the company and counterpart to our visionary CEO.

KEY CRITERIA / REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8+ years of experience in operations, product, talent management, or marketing at a SaaS or professional services organization
  • Track record of consistently and demonstrably achieving individual and team goals at a departmental and company level
  • Proven track record of hiring A-Players and scaling teams
  • MBA degree from a Top 10 school highly preferred
  • History of academic and professional achievement

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Own PlanIT Geo’s financial, SaaS, and Talent Management KPIs and implement CEO-approved strategies and plans to continually evaluate & drive performance
  • Run lean and efficiently for all day-to-day operations of the organization
  • Oversee, build out, and lead Finance, Administration, and Human Resources with emphasis on caring for people, our products, and our P&L
  • Manage, direct, and report on high-level Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing activities
  • Coordinate with the CTO on Software Development team operations (R&D, Professional Services, Data Products); optimize systems to achieve technical goals
  • Convene, guide, and provide resources to profitably grow our Consulting Services teams to further integration and synergies with software opportunities
  • Ensure that everyone on the leadership team is signing up for the right Rocks, that they are truly S.M.A.R.T., and the most important use of each person’s time for incrementally achieving 1-year and 3-year goals
  • Own the evolution and accountability of our Weekly Scorecard, measurables (KPIs), and their status. Use IDS – Identify, Discuss, and Solve – to have the Scorecard and leadership team’s Rocks “on track”
  • Ownership of our outsourced finance function, working closely with fractional CFO on budgeting, forecasting, compensation, board reporting, & cash/covenant management
  • Talent development plan and compensation plan in collaboration with our fractional CFO for presenting to the CEO
  • Participate in annual performance reviews of the leadership team (CTO, VP of Sales, VP of Marketing, and Consulting Services directors)
  • Review, amend, seek council, and approve contracts with government and other customers

COMPENSATION:

Base salary $180-190,000. Company 401(k) with employer match, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, HSA, and unlimited paid time off offered. Laptop and cell phone plan provided by PlanIT Geo as well as other reimbursable expenses. We offer flexible work hours, a supportive and inclusive work culture, and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the environment and urban communities.

You will be eligible to earn a performance based bonus that will be determined primarily by the company achieving its Revenue and EBITDA targets, as well as your individual performance and goal attainment. Your performance bonus plan will be determined annually by the CEO.

In addition to cash compensation, you will be awarded equity incentives in the form of profits interest in PlanIT Geo’s parent entity, Waverock Software Holdings LLC. (https://www.waverocksoftware.com/). Your equity incentive will vest over a 5-year period with a 1-year cliff. The size of the equity award will vary based on your experience and qualifications.

Professional Services Support Specialist

Position and Compensation:

Professional Services Support Specialist ($45-50k)

Location:

This is a remote position. PlanIT Geo is based in Colorado.

Description:

PlanIT Geo™ is a global urban forestry consulting and software development firm. Our web-based software is used by private tree care firms, consultants, local and state governments, nonprofits, and others who work with trees, parks, and natural resources data. As our platform and client base expand, so does our need to continue providing excellent technical support.

We are seeking a Professional Services Support Specialist to be a core member of our team. Our ideal candidate has prior experience in a customer-facing software support role, a great attitude, and strong technical skills. You will work with customers every day, providing training, troubleshooting issues, and setting up new apps. You will configure software in a database, analyze and import complicated data sets, and resolve challenging issues with our developers. You will be a part of our daily standup meeting and work with the entire team, including sales/marketing staff, account managers, and our in-field arborists. This is a great opportunity to join the fastest growing company in urban forestry technology, and can lead to other roles within the company for the right hire.

Primary responsibilities of the position: 

●Customer support via phone, email, screenshare – engage clients, identify their needs, and work independently and with the team to solve issues and create solutions
● Enter and track issues in a Help Desk system; help test and debug apps as able
● Configure/setup new and existing software apps to match customer specifications/ sales quotes
● Train new and existing users of TreePlotter software on everything from general use to custom features
● Use database administration tools and code statements to customize client software
● Analyze, prepare, clean and transform existing customer data for migration into TreePlotter, using Excel/Access, ArcGIS, and other tools
● Attend daily meetings and work with the team to support our entire client base in a holistic manner

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

● 1-2 years in a customer-facing role, with proven success supporting clients (preferably SaaS)
● Experience with databases, technical support procedures, help desk systems,CRM’s (Jira, Zendesk, Hubspot)
● Familiar with mapping/GIS concepts, technologies and a variety of formats (sql, json, QGIS, shapefiles, csv…)
● Strong technical skills including demonstrated understanding of software, systems, and the web
● Ability to work with complex data sets – analyze, manipulate, and transform data as needed to fit client data into our app, with very strong attention to detail and focus
● Excellent communication skills to ask questions, answer questions, and update the team on tasks throughout the day

Desired Skills and Nice-to-Haves

● Experience with Postgres or another database, AWS, linux, and web and software development
● Interest in trees, forestry, natural resource management, sustainability, or urban planning a plus

Tree Inventory Specialist - California Based

PAY: $70,000 a year

Full-time W2 employment (Inquire for Benefits Package)

LOCATION: fully remote, based anywhere in California – must be able to travel for two weeks straight and stay in hotels/Airbnb’s.

ABOUT THE JOB

PlanIT Geo’s Tree Inventory Specialist will primarily work outdoors on field work projects in California. We are seeking one candidate with diverse interests and experience/education in urban forestry, arboriculture, GIS, and technology. Candidates should be motivated, versatile, work well in the private industry under strict time restraints, be able to travel, and have excellent communication skills.

Joining the Field Services team is a pathway to many career choices at PlanIT Geo. At approximately 12 months, staff may have the option to reduce their percentage of travel and begin training to contribute in other departments (software support, customer success, GIS, management planning, etc.). We also promote from within to move up the hierarchy (e.g. from technical to specialist to crew leader).

Base salary commensurate with experience. Company 401(k) with employer match, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, HSA, and unlimited paid time off offered. Laptop provided by PlanIT Geo as well as other reimbursable expenses. Flexible work hours, a supportive and inclusive work culture, and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the environment and urban communities. We pay every other week through direct deposit and offer performance bonuses.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES OF THE POSITION

  • Collect individual x/y locations of trees and planting site locations via aerial imagery using a mobile device and TreePlotter software while in the field.
  • Assess trees for a variety of fields/attributes (e.g. Common and Scientific Name, DBH, Condition, Height, Crown Spread, Insect Issues, Diseases, Defects, Size of Defect, Probability of Failure, Target Frequency, Other Risk Fields, Site Type, Address, etc.).
  • Provide clients with training in TreePlotter tree inventory software and related data management in a variety of formats (Shapefile, Excel, Access, reports, etc.).

ABOUT YOU

  • Certification: ISA Certified Arborist – must have or be able to obtain within two weeks of hire date.
  • Education: Pursuit of, or obtained BS/BA degree in forestry, arboriculture, natural resources, horticulture or related field.
  • Tree Identification: Ability to identify a variety of North American tree species by common and botanical name during both leaf-on and off seasons.
  • Tree Health and Characteristics: Ability to identify or quickly learn a variety of defects (biotic and abiotic) for different species of trees. Familiarity of plant growth habits and landscape use of common urban tree species.
  • Technology: Experience in GIS desktop and mobile GPS software (ESRI or Open Source; from coursework or other).
  • Field Work: Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time while using a tablet device safely. Flexibility in work hours to meet a quota of trees inventoried per day/week. Ability to travel two weeks at a time, stay in hotels as needed, and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to establish/maintain effective working relationships with staff, clients, and other industry professionals.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and demonstrate flexibility in response to evolving business needs.

CURRENT PROJECTS

PlanIT Geo anticipates most of the inventory work for this position to take place in California, however projects arise across in the U.S. so the ability to travel efficiently and identify trees in all regions of the country is preferred.

Tree Inventory Technician

PAY: $19 – $25 per hour or $39k – $60k per year.

We are seeking one candidate with diverse interests and experience/education in urban forestry, arboriculture, GIS, and technology. Candidates should be motivated, versatile, work well in the private industry under strict time restraints, be able to travel, and have excellent communication skills.
